SEO Starter Guide 2010 By Google

Just recently, Google revealed their SEO Starter Guide for 2010, which is updated with the many alterations SEO has undergone since the first release of the guide in 2008. The starter guide is said to be aimed for those who are just starting out in SEO, as well as a bit of a refresher manual for experienced SEOs. The guide is excellent for those who are interested in learning about SEO, and great for proven SEOs to learn more about how Google views search engine optimization.

The content inside the SEO Starter Guide has changed a lot since its first release in 2008. One of the noted additions is the section committed to SEO for mobile browsing. The aspect of giving focus to SEO for mobile phones is a huge addition since most Internet users can now surf the Internet through their mobile phones. In the section, Google helps people see why there is a demand to have a mobile edition of a website, as well as how to cover SEO for it.

Although the information in the Google SEO Starter Guide is just basic, it helps solidify the fact that SEO will remain, despite the freshly released Google Instant system. It is a known fact that a number of people have declared that with the introduction of Google Instant, SEO is said to be on its deathbed. As it turns out search engine optimization is still as strong as ever, and still very critical too.

The starter guide also helps readers understand keywords and the reasons why good keyword research is necessary. It explains that keyword researching is important to SEO, and that it simply cannot be done by simple guesswork.

Learning SEO is not exactly hard to achieve. However, persistence, time, and diligence are necessary in order to process quality search engine optimization. With the Google Starter Guide, those who are new to SEO can find pretty much a lot of the fundamental information involved. Unfortunately, this does not necessarily mean that this would achieve the same results of an SEO professional. If you want fast results, get a knowledgeable SEO. Still, it is a great idea to read the Google Starter Guide in order to discover about SEO and its numerous aspects.

Get Your Site To The Top

Why should you bother with learning about search engine optimization? The fact is that search engine optimization is an inexpensive way of effectively advertising your business, as you don’t need to hire a professional if you have the right advice. Your small business will benefit from as much exposure as you can possibly give it, so be sure to follow these simple steps to get more business from your web presence.

For the best SEO results, remember to have a strong title tag. The title tag is easily one of the most potent tools a webmaster has at their disposal. Choose interesting keywords and consider the fact that the title will be read by both humans and search engines. A strong title tag is one of the keys to successful search engine optimization.

Be sure that you write your META description that is unique to each page with targeted keywords. Be careful not to stuff the keywords into the description. It should be a very well written summary of each page written for the site visitor and not for the robot looking for the site.

Links are more important in the process of increasing your site’s appearance on prominent search engines than certain “keywords.” Although these keywords may satisfy certain search algorithms, major search engines change their algorithms too often for you to count on them. Instead, make sure your site links to other related sites, blogs, etc.

Search engine optimization, which is also called SEO in the tech world, is a form of marketing. You simply use key words or phrases in your content in a specific way that will generate higher search engine rankings. This will direct people looking for what you have to your site.

Try to butter up to some well-known influential bloggers or authority sites that have a lot of respect and get a lot of hits. This is the easiest way to raise your search engine optimization because if you become known by someone “famous” then they will most likely link to your page and it instantly becomes better known.

As you can see, search engine optimization is a highly customizable and inexpensive way of promoting your business on the web. With regular time investment, this process is relatively easy to initiate, and requires only moderate upkeep. You will be thankful you followed this advice once your site traffic picks up!

Using Search Engine Optimization To Help Your Business

Professional website owners know that you have to have a high search engine ranking to be successful. This article, no matter your level of experience, will give you new ideas to improve your search engine rankings.

If you understand the ins and outs of SEO, you can implement it better. The sheer number of sites on the internet means that search engines rely upon computer-based algorithms to determine how sites are ranked. Computers do not look at the site and see it as having good content. They instead have to base their decisions on many factors, using algorithms and equations to determine their choices. That is why SEO is so important to understand! SEO will get your website to the top and let it be found much more easily.

Many factors affect the ranking a search engine gives your website. Keywords and critical phrases are always searched for by engines. You are also ranked based on the activity on your website and the links to and from your site.

You need to realize that your search engine rankings will improve slowly but surely. In the meantime, you should ensure that your website is optimized in every applicable and relevant way you can find. This will maximize your success while you wait for your rankings to update. One thing you must do is to put keywords in the titles and text on your site.

As tempting as it is to pay for your site to appear at the top, usually only large corporations can afford it. Only three featured results appear for each keyword and the price is quite high. A major corporation like Microsoft or Amazon can afford these results, but in general it will be out of reach to the regular business owner.

There is much more to search engine optimization than just dropping word clusters into your website content. Want great rankings? Just focus on your links and and sections and how they all connect with each other. Make the most of your contacts with other websites to establish a reciprocal link exchange agreement.

Think about your customers and how you are most likely going to get them to see your website. Although you may get some accidental visitors, keep your site focused on those actively seeking your products. Use keywords and search terms your customers are likely to use when searching for your business. Try to advertise on related sites to increase traffic on your site.

A website is a great asset for any company. If you intend to rely on internet sales for your business, a great website is practically a necessity. Using the advice in this article will get you up to speed in designing the perfect website for your business.

OEM EMS Dilemma

You are an OEM vendor that is facing the reality of deploying your new product or service into the network of a service provider, whether it be Carrier, MSO, I/C/LEC, etc.   Let’s assume you work for the Zoom Corporation and your company has sold your Zoom 2000 solution to a carrier customer and you have passed field trials which you have directly hosted and managed. Now that you have won a deal you have to consider the myriad issues related to the rollout of your solution into your customers production environment. There will be many, but this article focuses on one specific area.

Put yourself in the shoes of a Network Operations Center (NOC) manager of the service provider. As the NOC manager you are tasked with responsibility of integrating the Zoom 2000 into your network management systems (NMS) and other associated infrastructure. The marketing team has set an aggressive deployment schedule and you are asked to integrate in record time on a shoe-string budget. You will face challenges in several areas: alarm and performance metrics integration; configuration and provisioining; integrating with customer OSS; building in-house expertise; creation and documentation of numerous operational procedures; high sensitivity to capital costs, startup costs and long term operational costs; network planning. This is a subset of the considerations.

Now, you as the OEM of the Zoom 2000 want to reduce the rollout time and barriers to entry for your product. You certainly do not want to have the NOC manager put up a roadblock for your service. So you must ask yourself what you can do to remove these hurdles.

The NOC manager will want to have a complete FCAPS management solution that can integrate with his NMS. Having an Element Management System (EMS) that is designed to the specific needs of your products and solutions and is designed for integration into well known NMS systems will greatly reduce the list of demands you will face from the NOC manager.

So what are your options?

1) Build a full custom solution yourself
2) Build a solution on top of third party EMS products
3) Hire a vendor who has indepth expertise in delivering such solutions as your EMS team

Option 1

Over a decade ago this was the only option available to OEMs. But today, the challenge of the EMS is a well known problem space that has been addressed by companies that specialize in this area. Building a full size team to develop a complete custom solution will add a large cost and burden to your company. You are probably better off considering another option.

An example of a product that comes out of this type of organization is a combination will use existing web servers, message queues, high availability middleware, commonly available DB servers, etc. A lot of time and energy must be put into architecting a solution, selecting the best products to use, integrating, packing and testing all of these products together and then building a complete FCAPS solution on top of it all. This exact type of effort has been performed again and again, so you should ask yourself if you can come up with any compelling reason to reinvent the wheel.

Option 2

There are companies that have seen an opportunity to address this market and have built framework on which OEM’s may then build their own custom EMS. Over the years, there have been many of these types of systems built. One of the primary issues with this approach has been that these generic frameworks always require extensions to be made which are difficult to accommodate. One other issue with this approach is that you must still maintain a significant size staff to build and maintain this EMS product. Since the EMS“problem” has been well defined and addressed, should you really be hiring in this area which is not your core competency?

Option 3

The history of EMS systems development described above has produced a third option forOEMs such as yourself. It is now possible to get the benefit of a fully FCAPS compliant solution without hiring a large in house staff to produce the product. You as an OEM can hire a company that specializes in building custom EMS solutions on top of a framework specifically designed to meet the needs of your NOC manager customer. This allows you to avoid committing a significant portion of your capital to building a large team of full time engineers for a product that is not part of your primary value proposition.
